This city is not for everyone, if you like shopping malls and big crowded cities it is for you. It may be cheap but if you want to live in a good location with swimming pool, go to nice rooftops and restaurants, use taxis then it is similar cost to western countries. In many areas there are no sidewalks, big and dangerous traffic all the time, pollution, taxis do not want to go with meter, it can get really hot. Definitely try to live by the metro. Lived in Prague for 8 years. It's a beautiful international European city. Never learned Czech, but was fine. Almost all cafes and restaurants have English menus. I don't know exactly how Barcelona is still considered safe but it's far from it. It's probably the most dangerous city to live in Madrid and one of the most dangerous in europe, with constant pick-pocketing and even violent crimes to get your wallet and phone in certain areas. If you like a peaceful life, Barcelona is not the place anymore!!

Canggu has changed quite a lot. Inmigration treats tourist like shit. Congestion and traffic is a nightmare. Horrible Pollution. Been living here 2 years and I am def closing this chapter. Hi guys! Tenerife is amazing. Good weather all year round, fast internet, friendly people (especially if you speak a few words Spanish), low criminality. I was in the South in Adeje where I found an amazing coliving place (check google: Ojala Casa Tenerife). It's by far the best place to be in Europe.

One of the worst cities in N.America. Insanely expensive, people are awkward and making friends is difficult. Lots of homeless and mentally ill and drug addicts everywhere. Lots of construction. Spent the month of September here and it was nice for the first 2 weeks. There are a lot of young people due to the multiple universities and you smell weed everywhere!!! Cons: trash everywhere, out of control crime, violent drug-addicted "houseless" everywhere, mediocre public schools, some of the highest taxes in the country, ineffective police force, antiquated inefficient form of city government, very high rents, passive aggressive culture.
